DENVER MODERNISM GALLERY Curated by Elizabeth M. Licence Juror: Dana Cain $200 Cash Prize for Best in Show!
Call for Artists: Are you MODERN? How do you interpret Modernism? Is your work an homage to the past or a continuation of those ideas? Do you gain inspiration from the googie styles of the 1950s, or the sleek lines of Le Courbousier? All genres, styles, and mediums will be considered, as long as they relate to the theme of “modernism."
This is your chance to have your work seen by more than 3,000 art and culture lovers, who will be coming ready to shop at the Denver Modernism Show! Brandon Borchert was once named Denver's "Prince of Pop" by Westword art critic, Michael Paglia. His tragic death at a young age in 2006, led art lover and Modernism show founder, Dana Cain, to establish this award, in his honor. For a while, it was awarded whenever Denver's Art District on Santa Fe gave out annual awards. But that was sporadic, and then gone. In 2015, we decided to make the Brandon Borchert Pop Art Award part of the Denver Modernism Show, and it has become a cherished part of our Art Gallery awards since then.
